THE CHICAGO RIOTS.
The' trial of the Chicago anarchists ended on’ August. 20th, and bad excited so much interest that 2000 people Assembled dn the courthouse on Michigan street to hear the verdic, which was as follows : —“ We the jury find defendants August-Spies, Michael Scbrabe, Sami. Fiel.dety Albert R. Parsons, Adolf Fischer, GeorgciEnge', and Louis Lmgg guilty of murder, as charged in the indictment, and fix thfe’ pen'alty of death, and we find defendant- Oscar W. Neibe guilty of murder in the indictment, and fix Urn penalty as imprisonment foi fifteen yenre.” A (notion was made for a new trial, which wdll'be argned in the September t-rm. Prisosere were remanded in custody. Spies and Fischer looked deathly gale, but the rest of the prisoners wore their usual appearance. The female (datives of several of the condemned were in the court room, but were not allowed to communicate with them. The Press of the country generally congratulate their readers on the verdict and consider it tbeftiidiof iHiiarchy.
