BE HELD ON THE ASSOCIATION’S GROUND, WAI-ITI ROAD, ON TUESDAY 26th, and WEDNESDAY 27th, OCTOBER. Consisting of— SHEEP, CATTLE, HORSES, PIGS, DOGS, POULTRY DAIRY AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCE, IMPLEMENTS, WOOL, ETC., ETC. Frizsi amounting to about £550 will be given in Pieces of Plate, Medals, or Cash ; olio the following additional prizes:— A Challenge Cap, value 40 Guineas, will be given bj the members and friends of the Association to the largest prize-taker in Breeding Stock—Sheep, Cattle, and i Horses. ] Vice-President, Mr G, H. Rhodes, gives a cap, value £lO, for the best horse that has hunted with any recognised pack. The same to be entered in either class 151 or 168. Ths Hunt Clubs of South Canterbury give a prize of £5 6s for the best Light-weight Hunter. Mr F. LeOren, on behalf of the N.ZL. and. M.A. Company, offers a Cup, of the value of £lolOi, for the best pen of not less than twenty (20) Sheep in the wool, suitable for freezing for export; open to all Farmers not occupying or awning more than 8000 sores of land, the Sheep to have been bred and fattened by exhibitor. The Oup will not be awarded | unless there be at -least six exhibitors, bat it will be available for the same object at next year’s show. Maximum number of points to be 18, thus apportioned ; Early maturity, 6j wool, 6 ; earosse, 6. Special entry. The Association offsr a prize of £5, in addition to £5 offered by Mr William Balfour, for tho best Dray Boot-cutting Machine, to be drawn by not more than two horser, the roots to be dropped on the ground out to size suitable for sheep; certainty. of automatic feeding, and capability of cutting the largest quantity in a given time to bs specially considered ; the dray to hold not less than IScwtof roots. The Association offer a prize of £6 for a Tornip Drill, to sow from 60Ibs toSOOltw to an aore of Bone-dust or Super-phos-phate in the same drills. To sow from 6.zs to 21bs of turnip seed to the aore, suitable to sow either level or down lands. Tbe Association offer s prize of £3 for the best Automatic Chaff Box, for feeding sheep, to hold not less than ten bags, to be wind and water proof, and to be ensily moveable. Mr James King offers a first and e>c id prize of £3 and £2 respeottively for the best yearling oolt or filly by Qusmby. Mr J. Ballantyne gives a ptize of £2 2s for the best Jar of Salt Butter suitable for export. This exhibit, same conditions as for Potted Balter, must be left with the Secretary on or before Saturday, September 25th. Mr J. Ballantyne y vet a prize of £2 2s for the best Cheese suitable for export. Ur A. Grant offers a prize of £2 for the best English. Leicester Ewe, with or without lamb at foot. Mr 8.
