Eat Cattle—2oo head wore yarded, about halt of which were prime quality, the balance medium to gppd£': Competi* tion was active throughout, fiu t bal* locks brought £9.103 to. £l3 others £i to £9 ; cows* £4 to £Bl7s 6d. Fat Sheep—24Bi forward, consist* ing of 1964 crossbreds, ' shout one* fourth of which were prime htavy weights, the balance fair to' good, and 520 merinos ranging from inferior to prime. Prices ruled from Is 6d to 2s per head under previous week’s'values. Best crossbred wethers brought' from 12a 5d to 16s ; a few pens extra 'prime heavy weights, 15s 6d to 16s 6d ; others, 8s 64 to 12s, Best crossbred ewes, 11s to 18s 6d ; others, 7s to 10s 9d ; merinos, 6a 3d ! tb 10s 9d. Donald Eeid'abd Co. sold for Mr A. Hayes (Wafmate), 130 croasbreda at 9s to 10s 3d. • Pat Lambs— The first bf 1 the season were penned, and considering the recent severe weather were well grown and in fair condition.' These were sold by Donald Reid and Co. for Mr Jame¥M‘Nab, at 11a 9d to 14s.
Pigs—l 96 penned,' representing all de* scriptions. Stores and light-weight porkers were in much better demand, aod prices for these show an advance of about 5b per bead. Bacon pigs were also in slightly better requesr. Bacooera sold at from 30s to 66s ; porkers, 20a, to 2fs } stores 7s to 15s.—L. r Maclean sold 30 for Mr J. McDonald (Washdyke) at from 30f to 36a.
Horses—Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co,, report as follows^ — Saturday last being &ay,;'W6 M&our weekly sale OD ; Monday ~ laßt, instead, A few dealers’ lots comprised the supply, and most of these 'changed hands at quotations. We- quote first-class draughts at from £2O to £25 ; medium, i£lo.to £l6; good saddle and light-harness horses, £l2 to £lB ; light, £6.to £IQ; woedyj £110« to £a.
