Already 26 eases are set down for trial at the Ootober Criminal Seisigns at Auckland, including three arson, three attempted rape, two oattle stealing, one attempted murder, and one forgery. Hodgson, bill clerk in the Union Bank at Wellington, was yesterday remanded till Wednesday next;. It was stated 'in Court the total defalcations amounted to over £IOOO. Hodgson is a cousin to % man of the sane name who, while in the service of the National Bank some years ago, stole a large sum in gold from it and buritd the money in a church-yard at Ohristchuroh. The police at Wellington have received information that jewellery to the value ef £l6O was stolen last week from a gentleman staying in a hotel in Christohuroh, said to be a son of the Duke of Ijeinster, A two-yew-old daughter of P.
