Registers—Neat and accurate 5 for fulness only wanting in entry of Standard last passed. Class Grouping—’Standards IV. and V. are taught together in the geography of Standard V., as the regulations permit, but not in history as well. The only pupil m Standard VI. for the most part works with Standard V. Standards IV., V,, and YI, are again grouped together for instruction in agricultural chemistry on the lines of Prof. Tanner’s first principles. For object lessons, Standards 11, and HI. are classed together once weekly, and Standard I, and infants twice weekly. Comments on above Organisation—This organisation is quite satisfactory, except that bettor provision ought to be made for object lessons in Standard 11., either by adding another lesson weekly for Standards 11, and 111. grouped together or by assooialtisg Standard 11. with a lowt.p olaia if the other arrangement is not convenient, Time Table—l must compliment Mr Bethune on the remarkably neat and ornamental time table which ho has taken the trouble to have framed aud glased. Hi* example our other teachers would do well to follow, Quality—The school has every appearance of being in a healthy condition throughout, and remarkable improvement ha* already been made in writing in Mr Vero Foster’s style. 1 consider the whole work well nod skilfully conducted. . Order, etc,—Satisfactory, Manners—Saliafaotory, State of Buildings—So much having recently been expended on putting the school and residence in good repair, little now remain* to be!done; the total amounting to some slight improvement* the closets, and some windows panes in porch and schoolroom, Cleanliness —Closets not as clean as a visitor would wish to see. W. J. Andehsow, Inspector. July 15th, 1886, The report was considered very satisfactory, MASTERS REPORT.
