Demand was, animated and competition k-en, and values took a substantial rise. Stems sold at from £5 17s 6d to £10; .'Olers, from £sl2s 6d to £8 15s, being fiom 22s 6d to 26 s per 1001 b, according to,the quality. Fat sheep—A moderate entry, and Very 'few good lines at that, local buyers and freezers competed for the best lots, and a substantial increase in values took place. Best wethers sold at from 14s 3d to 20a per head, medium sorts 9* 3d to Us 6d, crossbred ewes from 10s to 18s 6.1, merino wethers from 6s 3d o 12s 9d, being from-2d to per lb, ccording to quality. In the store sheep mirkut a line of aged merino wethers „o!<i at Is 8d per head. Store cattle—A smal entry. Principal sales were a line of twenty-months-old cattle for £2 5a ; a Ime of three-year-old bullocks, £5 10a ; a line of two-year-old steers, £2 17s 6d. Dairy stock, a' small entry; business middling. Pigs—A large entry, sale v.'ry dull. Bacon pigs sold at from 21s to 41s ; porkers from 12a to 18s 6d. Stores very dull. ~ • ■
