GERALDINE RACING CLUB.
A special meeting of tlie Committee of this Club' was held at the Crown Hotel, Geraldine, yesterday af’ernoon. Present Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), R. S- Cook, J. Polhill, J. Mundel', R. Taylor, J. Lawson, and W. Deßeizy. The minutes of the two previous ordinary meetings were read and confirmed. The Chairman stated that the first business would be to appoint a Handicapper and Secretary,' He also stated that he had sent a notice to three papers that the declaration of weights had beep postponed, Mr Mundell proposed—“ That seeing that Mr McKenzie had been such an old member of the Club, and had been such a valuable Secretary, a letter of condolence be eent to the widow and family,” Mr Polhill seconded this, and it was carried unanimously. The Chairman, in putting the resolution, spoke highly of the services rendeied to the Club by the late Mr McKenzie, A discussion then took place as to the handicaps for the forthcoming Spring Meeting, and arrangements were made for the same. Mr. R. S. Cook was appointed Secretary pro tern, the salary to be at the discretion of the Club. Mr J. Mundell was, upon the motion of Mr Polhill, seconded by Mr Lawson, appointed Treasurer. Tf was resolved *o notify to the Bank of Hew Zealand that in future all cheques will be signed by the Chairman, Secretary, and Treasurer, It was also decided to pay over to the widow and family of tlm late Mr McKenzie any money that might be doe - to him from the Club. It was decided to refund to Mr Munj dell a sum of £2 which had been paid by “ him to the Club in error. This being all the business the meeting adjourned.
