ASHBURTON MARKETS.
Mr E, G. Staveley (for tha New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Ashburton stock sales on Tuesday as follows • At the Ashburton Saleyards te-day about 1500 sheep and moderate entries of pigs and cattle were yarded. The recent demand for ehesp svae fully maintained, and values were up to last quotations, Sheep-Fat assorted wethers, 10s; do mixed sexes, 9s 6d ; do merino ewes, 6s 6d ; forward merino wethers, 2s 10d to 3s; aged crossbred awes, 2s 6d to 5« 3d ; forward 2-tooth crossbreds, 7s. Pigs—Small porkers, 12s 6d. Cattle—Fat cow*, £5 5s ; forward bullocks, £4l6s ; yearlings, 20s to 325. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, July 10. The wool market continues firm. 13,300 bales were catalogued at to-day’s sale, July 12. Wool—At to-day’s sales the catalogue showed that 12,800 bales were submitted, The various lots met with • firm demand.
