London, July 1.

Algernon Swinburn, the poet, has written a political poem bearing on tli* Irish question, in which occur the following significant words :—“ The man of words embraces the man of blood.” The statement previously telegraphed that 265 member* had been elected without opposition is erroneous. Candidates to that number of seats are unopposed, and they represent party divisions, namely, 55 Gladstonites, 46 Unionists, 96 Conservatives, 68 Parnollites. The actual returns of those elected without opposition show 15 Conservatives, 8 Unionist*, 8 Gladstones.
