GERALDINE RACING CLUB. The annuarVneeting of the members of this Club waaheld at their office, G«raldino on Monday evenine 1 . Present— Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), J. Mundell, R. S. Cook, T. Hughes, F. Worner, M. Connolly, W. Lawson, T. Farrell, R. Taylor, and D. McKenzie (Secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The balance-sheet, which had been properly audited and certified to, was road, and showed the income of the Club during the past year to hare been £1895 13s 51, leaving a debit balance of £46118s Ud, including an overdraft at the Bank. The auditor Btated that members were greatly in arrears with their subscriptions, and suggested that very strenuous efforts should be made to obtain the subscriptions of tlio3e members who had Dot paid ; also making several suggestions for the benefit of the Club. The balance-sheet as submitted was adopted. An opinion was generally expressed that n strong effort abould be made by the Club to obtain the moneys due. It was resolved to recommend the incoming Commiftee to obtain the outstanding subscriptions, and to carry out the suggestions of the auditor to the best advantage. The Chairman stated that the two meetings held during the year had not been quite so successful as previously, owing, no doubt, to the prevailing depression ; the Autumn meeting had just cleired expeases, The Chairman also stated that

it had nppeured in one of the papers circulating in the district that the disqualification the Olub had enforced upon the horse *' Borderman," his owner and rider had been for two years, which was not the intention of the Club; the diequalification was during the Club's pleasure. He wished this to be publicly known. Mr D. McKay, of Peel Forest, was elected a member of the Club. The election of new members of the Committee to fill the places of Messrs J. Gregg, Pearpoint, Lawson, and Denoon, who retire by rotation, was then proceeded with. The three last-named gentlemen were re-elected, and Mr Polhill in the room of Mr J. Gregg, who has left the district. A vote of thanks was passed to the auditor for the manner in which he had gone through the Club's books, and also for the valuable suggestions made to the Olub. Votes of thanks were also passed to Mr J. Gregg for the services he had rendered to the Club during hia stay in GeraHine, and to the Secretary for the able manner in which he bad conducted the affairs of the Club. This being all the business the meeting terminated. At a Committee meeting held afterwards Mr R. H. Pearpoint was re-elected Chairman, aud MrD. McKenzte re-elected Secretary and Treasurer. A programme for the Spring meeting was submitted and adopted. The proposed agreement between the Club aud Messrs Mason and Roberts re the working of the totajisator is to be ratified if the necessary alterations to the agreement be made.
