It has transpired that when the Home Rule resolutions carried at the Auckland meeting were cabled to Mr Gladstone, the Orangemen of Auckland sent a cablegram to the Marquis of Salisbury stating that the meeting was not representative of the people' of Auckland, but merely of the Irish party.
