He went to the shop door, and hailed a passer by who was a stranger to bins, and asked the stranger “if he was any good at figures:” Tha ■ stranger hesitated for a moment, and replied : “Yes, I think I can do something at figures.. Why ?” Butcher: “Because I’m puzzled ovat my balance-sheet: I can’t get it right. Ho you mind helping me Stranger; “Oh, yes ; I’ll try what j ean do.” They entered tha shop, and, after about.an boar’s hard work, the balance-sheet was brought put right. Tha grateful shop-keeper asked'the stranger how much he was in his deb’, and received the reply : “ Nothing whatever. I have sometime* ■■ been in difficulties with figures myself.
