The German and Austrian Governments insist on the blockade of the Greek ports until the latter has completely demobilised her army. The Greek Deputies propose to impeach M. Deliyannis, the late Minister of Foreign Affairs and Finance. May 28, The German cruiser Adler has sailed for Australia. Tn-tay the London Gazette contains th* announcement of birthday honors. The Hon. Robt. Stout, Premier of New Zealand, is created a Knight Commander of the Older of St. Michael and St. George. Sir John Cootie has also been Crested Knight Commander of St, Michael and St. George for the services rendered by him in connection with colonial harbors. 0. H. Symonds, Commissioner of Audit for Victoria, and R. S. Baker and A. M. C. Symons, of South Australia, have also been created Companions of the same Order ; the Hon. Jas. Mcßain, President of the Legislative Council of Victoria; Mr Justice Moleswortb, of Victoria ; and Mr Justice Dobson, of Tasmania ; are created Knights Bachelors, In the Chamber of Deputies, M. Basey proposed that the property of the Orleanist Princes shall be confiscated to Government.
Bowens’ Company, for the construction of a railway Irora Albany to York, in Western Australia, has had its subscriptions more than covered.
At the conference of the Exhibition officials at the Colonial Institute, Mr Labillior read a paper on federation, Sir Alexander Stuart declared that the colonies would not permit any interference with their particular fiscal policies ; each ought to have liberty to raise revenue as it liked.

His Excellency the Governor has received a telegram from Lord Granville, Secretary of State for the Colonies, informing him that Her Majesty’s Government have deferred sending a definite reply t o the proposals of France regarding the occupation of the New Hebrides until they are in receipt of despatches from the various colonial Governments setting forth their views on the matter. Lord Granville adds, however, that the French Government have been informed of the probable nature of the reply.
