AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.
GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 29th May, 1886 : At Winchester Yards on Tuesday, associated with K. F. Gray, we held a sale of horses, farming implements, etc. There was an average attendance, and every lot found buyers at prices satisfactory to the vendor. On Wednesday, at Oran, on account of Mr Thomas Wadsworth (who is leaving the district), we held ,a clearing sale of his stock, implements, and furniture, etc. There was a large attendance of buyers, everyone seeming anxious to obtain at least some portion of the property of their old and valued friend. The sale, we may say, was a great success, every lot being sold, in some instances at over its cash value.
On Saturday, at our Rooms, we held a sale of bankruptcy stock, consisting of clothing, ready made and in the piece. Although the day was not favorable the attendance during the sale was good, and we sold at least half the goods. This sale will be continued on Friday next.
