The medicel stiff of the Christchurch Hospital have stated that it would be dangerous to the health of the patients to use the old wards at the hospital if-the buildings weie disturbed by miking alterations, in consequence of the contagion existing in the wal s, floors, Jtc. Notwithstanding this, the Hospital Board, at its meeting on Wednesday, resolved that as there was no probabili y of obtaining a grant for new buddings, they were compelled to make alterations in the old wards in order to meet 'requirements at the hospital.
