Spobtikg. —At the Christchurch Autumn meeting on Tuesday, Mr Gordon’s Garibaldi carried off the Christchurch Hurdle Handicap, Messrs M. and C. Hobbs’ Jack the Free Handicap, Mr J. Stephenson’s Captain Webster the Great Autumn Handicap, Mr Webb’s Ruby the Champagne Stakes, Mr M, Sherwin’s Quibble the Epsom Welter Handh cap, aud Mr G. G. Stead’s Ymaigrette the Russley Stakes. On Tuesday Mr G, Rutherford’s Peter Csbeck won the Hurdle Handicip, Mr E. Lyons’ First Lord the Autumn Nursery Handicap and the Challenge Stakes, Mr G. G. Stead’s Yinaigrette the Selling "etakes, and Mr VV. Keeves’ Maligner the Easter Handicap. At the Australian Jockey Club’s meeting on Monday, Nelson carried off the Autumn Slakes. iNelson is now a hot favorite for the Sydney Cup.
