The warship Diamond was reported in despatches just received to be at fiagga Island, in the Sooth Seas, and it was expected she would punish the natives for a shocking outrage and cannibalism. The object of the terrible trooble was a trader named Gbilde, who had settled on the Island a few months previously. The warship Diamond came up soon after the occurrence, and the traders made the commander acquainted with the facts.
