In the case of Mrs Emily Walsh, charged with absconding from her creditors at Blenheim, the prosecution has been withdrawn, £IOO being paid to Messrs Sargood, Son, and Ewen for the benefit of her creditors. In the similar charge against Oscar Walsh, accused was remanded to Blenheim.
Another disturbance took place in Auckland last Thursday night, a large mob gathering in front of Green’s boot factory to receive the bootmakers who had resumed work. Lyndon and Brennan wer arrested for carrying the effigy, and the names of the ringleaders were taken by the police. Three of the men working on Wednesday were intimidated from resuming work on Friday. A gold mining company, capital £20,000, has been started in Invercargill.
A concert in aid of the Taiaroa Belief Fund in vVellington realised £2OO. The imports at the four principal ports of New Zealand for the 31st March last were £1.964,748, and the exports £2,481,494.
