ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 20. The trial of Mrs Adelaide Bartlett, for poisoning her husband by administering chloroforms, was concluded today, when the jury acquitted the prisoner. The s.s. It has been ascertained that the catastrophe at Lithgow colliery was not due to an explosion of firedamp, as at first supposed, but to an immense fal in the workings in the pit.
