MR GLADSTONE’S IRISH PROPOSALS.
London, April 18. Mr Parnell, in a speech, warned the Irish landlords that the offer now made for the purchase of their lands will not be repeated. He regards Mr Chamberlain’s scheme as dangerous, despite all that may be done towards modifying it, April 19. The Government land purchase scheme provides that the Imperial Receiver-General shall receive the rents of purchased properties, and that the same shall be a first charge on Irish revenue. April 20. Mr Parnell objects to any further concession* being granted to Mr Chamberlain in his Irish settlement scheme. It has been arranged that the Marquis of Hartington shall more the rejection of the Home Rule scheme when the measure comes up for its second reading. Mr Jesse Ceilings, the late member for Ipswich, has written a letter to a newspaper, in which hs condemns the Bills introduced by Mr Gladstone for the settlement of the Irish difficulty.
