AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT.

GERALDINE. . Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 17th April, 1886 At South Canterbury Saleyards or Tuesday, on account of several owners, we submitted to auction a number of broken and unbroken horses. Although there was a large attendance of buyers and others interested prices obtained were exceedingly low. Of our entry we sold 5 3-year-old draught colts and fillies at from £lO 10s to £ls. On Wednesday, at our Rooms, Geraldine, we sold, on account of the Mortgagee, 12£ acres ol land situate at Kakahu for £7O. On Thursday, at the Kanf and Ewe sale, on the grounds of the Temuka and Geraldine A. and P. Association, we submitted to auction, on account of several owners, 69 rams and 850 merino ewes, and succeeded in selling 16 rams as follows :—6 English Liecesters at £1 10s each, 7 Border Liecestersat £1 10s to £2, 3 South Down rams at f guineas each, and 200 merino ewes at Is. On Friday, at Moana, Geraldine, on account of B. Bayley, Esq , wo held a clearing sale of surplus stock, consisting of Ayrshire cattle, pigs, horses, and farming implements. There was a largo attendance of buyers from all parts of the district, and the result of the sale was extremely satisfactory, the stock, as a whole, being well kept. To this fact alone we attribute the success of the sale. We have to report the sale of Oakley Farm, Orari, on account of James Gregg, Esq,, to a local buyer at' a satisfactory figure. Price withheld.
