The Parliamentary Union at Dunedin was opened last Saturday evening by the Hon. George Mclean, as Governor. Sir William Fox’was presept. The Kaikaiha Cheese Factory at Waikato has been burned. The building and machinery were insured in the National for £7OQ. It is not known whether the cheese, valued at £6OO, was insured. A settler in Puherua district named Ale*. Henderson lias died from thp effects of a tree falling on If n, pnd* which Le lay for three hours. _
