GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
A special meeting ef this Board, called to consider the expenditure by the Board of a sum of £585 and also the suggestion of the Overseer to lay a strip of asphalt throughout the entire length of the town, was held at the Board’s office on Tuesday evening. Present—Messrs R. H. Pearpoint (Chairman), W. S. Maslin, R. Taylor, and J. Huffey. Mr 0. E. Sherratt (Clerk) was in attendance. The Chairman stated the object of the meeting and read over the items of the proposed exdenditure of £636. The estimated receipts to meet this amounted to £526 13s 3d, leaving a deficiency of £lB 6s 9d. Ob the motion of Mr Maslin, seconded by Mr Huffey, it was decided that the proposed expenditure by the Beard be adopted. It was decided that a special meeting of the Board be convened for the 21st April for the purpose of ratifying the resolulion cf the Bor'd to strike a rate of 1« in the £.
The quei-tion of asphalting footpaths was deferred to a future meeting.
