ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, April 9. The Copyright Act was read a second time in the House rf Gammons last night. Parliament will adjourn for the Easter recess from the 19th April until the 2nd of May. The trial of the Socialist leaders, Burns, Champion, Hyndmann, and Williams, for their connection with the riotous, proceedings of the 9th February, concluded to-day, when they were all acquitted of the charges brought against them. Sir haul Samuel presented the Banquet Committee’s bracelet to Mrs Murray-Sraith, and, in so doing, spoke of the friendly relations existing between himself and Mr Smith. Constantinople:, April 9. (Limited), woolbrokers, died to-day, aged 65. April 10. The barque South Milton, bound from Mauritius to Melbourne, has been wrecked near the Barwon Heads. She struck on a reef, and sank in nine fathoms of water. Her masts are submerged as far as the top sails. The captain and crew were saved. Sydney, April 9. Ihe Government expect to have a majority when the division is taken on Sir Henry Parkas’ motion on the New Hebrides question. April 11. Arrived—Notero, barque, from New Zealand. Nelson is at 10 to 1 for the Sydney Cup. Hobart, April 11. The s.s. Coptic arrived this morning from London. She sails to-morrow for New Zealand.
