Chkistohukch, April 7,

At the Supreme Count to-day, William Triggs was convicted of'fraudulent bankruptcy and sentenced .to three months' imprisonment without hard labor. The " Severed Hand " case was comme.ncad.

Wellington, April 8,

At the Supreme Court thit morning, Jolin Freebody, farmer, and John Pollock, farm laborer, were sentenced to two years'liard labor each, on a charge of stealing cattle at Gladstone, in the Wairarapa district. The Crown solicitor i-toted that in consequence of the prevalence of this nature of offence in th* Wairarapa it had been found necessary to send a detective to the district.

Joseph Robaris, charged with attemped r«pp, was acquitted.
