AUCTIONEERS' REPORT.

GERALDtNE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 6th March, 1886 : At the monthly sale of stock in the Geraldine Saleyards on Wednesday the entry of stock, especially sheep and cattle, was the largest they have had for several months, and, considering the low prices lately ruling for stock, and the difficulty experienced in effecting sales, the large number of sheep and cattle which changed owners during the day, and the prices obtained, may be considered satisfactory to all concerned. The totals yarded were—47s2 sheep, 117 head cattle, and 26 pigs. Prices obtained were—for 2-tooth crossbreds, light-weights, 6s 6d to 6s 9d ; strong crossbred lambs, 3s lid to 4s 7d ; crossbred ewes, ssi They sold a line of 2080 merino ewes, station sheep, in lots to suit purchasers, at Is to Is 4d. They could place a large quantity of a similar class of sheep at quotations in this market, Cull merino ewes, paddock sheep, sold at 6d. 2-year-old Bteers sold at £2 10s ; cows, springing and in full profit, £5 to £5 15s. On account of a local breeder they sold two young bulls at £3 8s and £8 15s. Wo' pigs were sold. On account of Mr Tiplady, they sold his draught horses and implements at satisfactory rates. At Winchester Fair on Thursday there was a large entry of stock sent forward, but the sale throughout was dull, They have no transactions to report.

At Mr Lawson's butcher's shop on Saturday, they sold a large quantity of crossbred mutton at satisfactory prices.
