CHRISTCHURCH CORN EXCHANGE. The Corn Exchange reports for the week ending Friday evening, the sth February : Samples of new grain are slow in coming to hand, considering the perfect harvest weather that has been experienced, The quality, however, should not suffer from the delay. A few lines of new oats have changed bands at satisfactory prices to growers, and we have also heard of sales of wheat, but values can scarcely be said t° have been arranged between buyers and producers. Sacks (which are at present quoted at 5s 6d) are a good deal enquired for,whichindicates that threshing will be general in the course of a few days. Buyers are not over anxious to operate in old wheat. Old oats have a good enquiry, and prices have keen fully maintained. Barley has slightly better tone, especially feed lines. Few parcels of rye grass are offering and less have changed hands, buyers* views not being in accordance with those of growers. At the same time, good heavy clean seed is well ; competed for. Cocksfoot is not offering in any quantity, and a few lines have been taken up at 4d to execute existing orders, but buyers are not willing to speculate at these figures. Dairy produce is quiet. Quotatations are as follow Wheat—Prime milling (old), 3s 2d to 3s 3d ; second quality, 2s lid to 3s; chick wheat (whole), 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Oats—Short feed and milling, 2s 14 to 2s 2d ; short (slightly discolored) Is lid to 2s ; inferior, Is 8d to Is lOd 3 new oats, Id less. Barley—Malting, bold and bright, Bs 3d ; discolored, 2s 6d to 2s 9d ; feed, 2t> to 2s Id. Rye grass—Farmers’ parcels, 3s to 3s 6(1 ; extra clean, 3s 9d.
