Geraldine Road Boaed.—The ordinary monthly meeting of this Board takes place on Tuesday nest. Me Matthew Burnett. —Mr Matthew Burnett intends levying Hobart on the 11th inst., to resume his temperance mission in New Zealand. Mr Burnett will commence operations at Christchurch. Fatal Accident at Raeaia.. — A fatal accident happened at Eakaia on Thursday to a child, two years of age, the daughter of Mr W. Shannon. The child fell into a well, and was dead before it was extricated therefrom. Lecture. —At Geraldine to-morrow evening lhe Rey. Geo. Barclay will deliver a lecture on the “The Three Creeds of Early Christendom.” The lecture should be one of the most interesting the rey. gentleman has yet given. Testimonial to Me Back, —At an influential meeting at Christchurch on Thursday it was decided to get up a testimonial to Mr F. Tehuka Fieb Brigade l — We learn that the Canterbury Fire Association has forwarded to the Temuka Fire Brigade a letter covering a cheque for £25, their annual donation to the funds of the Brigade. Accident. — An accident took place at the Linseed Factory yesterday to a boy named Washington. The hoy w-s engaged about the machinery and got his ihumb caught in one of the cog wheels.
