The Island Bay Races took place on Friday and Saturday last, and were well attended. During the two days £12,000 passed through the totalisators. Tramway Stakes Handicap, of 100 sovti ; second horse to receive 10 sovb from the stakes ; | mil*.—Mr H. D. Brudley’a Athol Daisy, 1 ; Mr T. Thompson’s Little Scrub, 2. The Selling Hack Race, of 15 aovs, brought out a field of nine, Bateman (late Hinau) winning rather easily. Ladies’ Bracelet, IA miles ; Bracelet value £4O for first horse, and Bracelet value £lO for second,—Mr H. P, Bradley’s Athol Daisy, 1 ; Mr A. Drake’s Revolver, 2, Handicap Hurdles, of 100 sovs; 2 miles. —Mr T. Sheenaa’a Master Agnes, 1 ; Mr Dennett’s Faagh-a-ballagh, 2. Newton Stakes, o! 250 sovs, second horse 25 sovs from the stakes ; § mile.— Hon. W. Reeve’s Maligner, 1; Mr D. O’Brien’s Tasman, 2. Woodcote Stakes, of 100 sovb ; second horse 10 sovs from the stakes; | miles ; for two-year-olds.—Mr E. Outts’ Galatea, 1; Mr H. Redwood's Itepo, 2. The Hack Race, of 15 sovs was won by Silence, who easily disposed of seven others. Consolation Handicap, of 40 sovs.— Little Scrub, 1; Talebearer, 2.
