GERALDINE SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
SL The monthly meeting of the above Committee, adjourned from Fridny, was held on Monday evening. Present— Messrs N. Dunlop (Chairman), R. S. Cook, T. Farrell, A. Sherratt, and Geo. Ward. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. chairman's report. ..The Chairman , reported that he had
takes steps to have the plans, and specifications for the new classroom deposited in Geraldine for the convenience of contractors. The architects advised that the alterations to the windows of the
infant room be left over for the present; they approved’of the plan of ventilation for this room suggested by the Committee. The Chairman also reported that the
Sub-Committee appointed at last meeting \ad called for tenders for erecting the ftoce between the schoolground and Mrs Hdloway’s section ; the work had been don* satisfactorily and the cost was as follovsMaterial, £3 17s; carting, 4s ; labor, £2 5s ; total, £6 6s. The action of the sub-Committeo was
approved<vnd the account passed. The Chairman also stated that the School had broken up for the usual summer holiday and would re-asaemble on Jan. 25th. The old bell had been forwarded to Messrs Scott Bros., founders, Christchurch, but he had not received any word of the new one. correspondence.
The following correspondence was read and considered From the Board of Education reqnesfcisg the Committee to nominate two persons to serve on the Board, Messrs Goldsmith, and Wakefield and the Bev. Geo. Qeo. Barclay being the three retiring members. It 'was proposed t by Mr Ward and seconded by Mr Sherratt—“That this Committee nominate the Bev. Geo. Barclay and Mr Goldsmith.” Carried. From the same, forwarding forms of abstract of school accounts for the year ending December 31st. visitors’ report. Mr Cook, on behalt of the Tisiting Committee, reported that upon the occasion of .their visiting the school they kund it working satisfactorily and an tendance of 201. VISITORS. Messrs Farrell and Lodge were, appealed visitors for the causing month. . ACCOUNTS. icctuntsto the amount of £8 7d were ptssed for payment, and the Com-
