OAMARU V. TEMUKA. This match wan played last Saturday in the Temuka Park. Mr J. Nicola captained the Oamaru team, and Mr E. Brown acted in a similar capacity for the Temuka Eleven. Oamaru, winning the tose, went in to bat, and were not disposed of before making the good score of J69 —most of the players getting into double figures. Messrs J. Walla, R. Hewitt, and T. MoMaster each played a fine, free innings ; and G. Borton had made 37 by very steady play, \>hen hp was run out. Messrs Hayhurst and Bethune had to do most of the bowling for Temuka, as none of the other bowlers were either able to keep runs down or get wickets, The Temuka men, going in to bat, were quickly disposed of—the only one making a stand was Heap, who made 10. Owing to the way the wicket was cut up by the first innings of the Oamaru teflm, it was almost unplayable against the fast bowling of the brothers Hewitt, and thiß, together with the loss of the Temuka captain (Mr Bryars), accounted in a measure for the small score made by Temuka.
