HOME RULE FOR IRELAND.

London, Dec. 17. Mr Gladstone has announced that the remarks in yesterd»y's Standard attributing to him a willingness to reestablish an Irish Parliament are inaccurate. The Pall Mall Gazette publishes an article to-day which states the scheni" proposed by Mr Gladstone tor the settlement of the Irish difficulty includes an Irish Parliament to sit at Dublin, and to have control over all Irish affairs, the Crown retaining its right to veto, which, however, will only be exercised upon the advice of the Irish Ministry of the day. In the powers proposed to be granted in the local government of Ireland, Mr Gladstone includes the Irish control of police, and that Irish members sluil continue to sit in the British Parliament for Imperial purpose*. M.r Pameil in !o furnish guarantees for the protection of the loyal minority in Ireland, and for ihe protection of landlords' interests. This revelation renders the action- ot the Marquis of Salisbury uncertain. Dec. 19.

The Times to-lay states that Mr Gladstone ha? submitted to H« r Majesty the Queen a plan for iheestabisliment of an Irish PHilinment, and further announces that Her Majeaty has referred the scheme to her Ministers for approval. The limes, in an article on Mr Gladstone's policy, sa»s that the conscience of the country is deeply shocked at his conversion, which might lead to tb--disruption of the Empire, and the article urges the moderate Tories to reject the proposals. Mr O'Connor, M.P., in an address to the electors, states that nothing shor of the liberties extended to Canada wiil satisfy the Irish people.
