A PETITION having been presented to this Council by LANDOWNERS and SETTLERS of that Fortion of the County lying between the ORARI and RANQiTATA RUVERS. praying that the said portion of the County may be constituted a WaterSupply District for Irrigation purposes, in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act 1876 and Amendment Act 1883 It is hereby RESOLVED that the SAID DISTRICT be CONSTITUTED a WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT in accordance with the said Act, under the name of '‘The Orari and Rangit'ta WaterSupply District,” and in accordance with the Description aud Definition of the District sot forth in the said petition ; and it is also resolved that this Resolution shall be deemed to be a Special Order duly made under Section 17 of the Counties Act 1876 Amendment Act 1885. and shall come into force on the First Day of January, 1886.—Carried.
