London, Nov. 16. A proposal has boon made that the process of quartz-crushing should be illustrated at the approaching Colonial and Indian Exhibition, and the AgentsGeneral for tbo colonies are submitting a proposal for the consideration of the Exhibition Commissioners. Nov. 18. A proposal for sending an expedition to that part of .New Guinea belonging to Holland has been under consideration of the Netherlands Parliament, which, however refused to vote the subsidy required for that purpose. Nov. 19, The personality of the late Mr Alexander Elder, of the London and Adelaide shipping firm, Elder, Smith Co., has been sworn at L 282,000. The property is to be divided between the children, subject to a life annuity to Mrs Elder, the widow of deceased. The executors to the will ore the widow, with Mr Park and Messrs George anil Thomas Elder brothers of the deceased.
