Farther details to hand respecting the massacre of the Geographical Expedition states that Captain Evere'l, the leader of the expedition, having reason to believe the native chief Cairosso, who was piloting the boats up Fly River, w« misleading tlipm, threw him overboard ; whereupon Cairosso, in order to be revenged, got a boat, obtained a number of fighting men, and returned at night and massacred the whole party. Several savages having been seen with new table knives in their possession supposed to belong to the expedition, and coupled with the fact that Captain Everell failed to keep his appointment with Mr Macfarlane, tends vo point to the truth of the reports previously received. It is probable that some action will be taken ty the authorities to punish the murderers. , . Nov. 17. The Vekapo sailed this afternoon for New Zealand. The New South Wales Parliament assembled to-day. The newly«ielected members of the Legislative Asssmbly having been aworn in, the {House adjourned. The Opposition members are in a majority, but the courss of actiou they will adopt has not transpired. Sir Henry Parkes took the opportunity this afternoon of renouncing his claims to the Premiership.
