AUCTIONEERS' REPORT. GERALDINE. Messrs J. Mundell and Co. report sales for the week ending Saturday, 7th Nov., 1885:At the monthly sale of stock in tha Geraldine i ards on Wednesday the entry of stock was not so large as on previous occasions, owing to the heavy rain which fell on Tuesday which prevented stock from being drafted in time for the sale. Of the stock yarded we may say that store cattle received tha most attention from buyers. The totals yarded were 385 sheep, 146 bead of cattle, and 56 pigs. Sheep—Merino ewes, with a large percentage of lambs, were withdrawn at a bid of, 10s 31. Cattle —Cows in full profit (inferirr sorts) sold at L4to IA 7s 6d ; 2-year-old steers sold at L 3 10s to L 3 14s; yearlings sold at Ll .")s to LI ,I.os. Pigs—Small stores, 7s ; good stroDg stores sold at 17s.- -'— At the South Canterbury Saleyards on Thursday there was a large number of stock yarded. We notice a drop in the price of fat sheep, the trade operating with great caution. At auction Very few sheep were eoM. We offered a line of fat merino wethers,in the wi o\ which were withdrawn at a bid of 9s 9<). Fat cattle seemed, to move off with a li'tla more freedom than at previous sales, with prices a little firmer, We sold a pen of light weight steers! at L 7 10s. At Winchester Saleyards on Friday there was a large number of store cattle yarded, and during the day at auction and privately a good number of those yarded changed ownerp. At our Room*, Geraldine, on Saturday, on account of the Public Trustee we sold a section on Jolhe street, Geraldine, it a good price.
