A Challenge Oup of 50 Guineas is given by the Business Men of Timaru for the Largest Prizetaker in Breeding Stock, Sheep, Cattle and Horses. G. H, Rhodes, Esq., gives a prize of £6 5s for the best Pen of Fat Lambs fit for butchers’ purposes. G. H. Rhodes, Jfisq., gives a £lO Cup for the best Horse that has hunted with any recognised Pack. The same to be entered in either Class 146 or 147. D. McLaren, Esq. (President), gives a prize of £5 5s for the Largest Prizetaker in Draught Horses. Andrew Grant, Esq., gives a prize of £2 tor the best Collie Dog on the ground. J. W. Rutherford, Ksq., off-rs a prize of £5 5s for the Best Jumper over two flights of hurdles 3ft Gin high, for horses that have never been hunted or raced. J. Imlah, Esq., offers a prize of £2 for the Best Shod Entire Draught Horse on the ground, to be allowed by competent judges, J. NOTICE ia hereby given that the Geraldine County Council intend to undertake the CONSTRUCTION of WATER-RACKS in the Waitohi Flat Water Supply District. That they intend to Sorrow the Sum of £2500 (two thousand five hundred pounds) for such purpose.
