CRICKET.

ENGLAND V. THE WORLD. This match was played last Saturday in the Park, Temuka. Mr Brown captained England and Mr Bryars The World. The former winning the toss, England took the wickets, and were not disposed of before scoring 116. Fish, by good play, contributed 44, not out, and Haines showed good form for 31. The World then went in and were quickly disposed of for 23, McCaskill being (he only one who scored double figures. The World, being 93 behind their opponents, again took the wickets,

and when time was called had scorad 60 for 4 wicket*. Messrs Bryars and Mackintosh, getting well set, scored freely.
