TRUST OFFICE OF NEW ZEALAND. Any Person may appoint the Public Trustee executor and trustee under bis will or codicil. A y present trustee may transfer the management of trust property to the Public Trustee, who will thereupon hold such properly upon the original trust attaching thereto. Any person, company, association or public body within or without the colony, may place any property belonging (o them in charge of the Public Trustee upon trust for such uses as may bo defined in the deed creating the trust. Any building, land, or friendly society may, by its rules, provide that property belonging 1 to it may bo placed in the Public Trust Office, j for such trusts and uses and with such I powers as may be defined in or by the said rules. The advantages offered are : Ist. State Guarantee against peculation, fraud or dishonesty. 2nd. All proposed investments are considered by a Board, consisting of the Hon. Colonial Treasurer, the Attorney-General, the Comptroller and Auditor-General, the Government Insurance Commissioner, and the Public Trustee. Careful oomidtration of all securities offered it is therefore insured. 3rd. The Public Trustee in Us corporate capacity never dies, never leans the colony, and never becomes incapacitated, thus avoiding the many inconveniences mulling from frequent fresh appointments of trustees, necessitated by death, change of abode, or mental or bodily infirmity. 4lh. Punctuality and promptitude in the remittance of periodical payments to beneficiaries under trust or will to any part of the colony, at which it may bo desired that payment should be made. sth. The efftotive check which is called into operation before any moneys can be paid from the Public Trustee’s Account. 6th. Reasonable Charges. On estates such as are now being considered the Pubi c Trustee is authorised to charge H per cent, on all receipts, and 1£ per cent, on all disbursements, and ss, per cent, on all moneys invested. No charge is made for obtaining probate, nor for passing stamps and property tax returns, nor for correspondence, however voluminous. Thus the saving to estates placed in this office is considerable.
