COURSING.
A coursing match was held last Thursday on Mr Parkerson’s Estate, Waitohi. The day was fine and very suitable for the sport. This was the last match of the season, and there was a good number of spectators present, who took a great interest in the coursing, although only Temoka dogs competed. Mr Boyd Thomson acted as judge, and Mr Reid and Dr Hayes officiated as slippers, in torn. Hares were numerous and strong, and the result was grand coursing. The following are the results : Sweepstake of 10s each dog; first dog 60s; second, 80s. First Round.
-Mr H. Pratt’s Fly beat Mr C. H. Reid’s Dusty. Mr J. K. Franks’ Spray beat Mr J. Blyth, jun’s., Rose. Dr J. S. Hayes’ Tutor baat Mr R. Fenton’s Waxy. Mr C. H. Reid’* Gambler beat Mr T. Oliver’s Pirate.
Second Bound. MrJ. K. Franks’ Spray beat MrH, Pratt’s Fly. Dr J. S. Hayes’ Tutor beat Mr C. H, Reid a Gambler.
Final Round, Mr J. K. Franks’ Spray and Ur Hayes Tutor divided the stakes.
