GERALDINE CRICKET CLUB.

The annual general meeting of the members of tlie Geraldine Cricket C'ub was held on Tuesday evening in the Geraldine Hotel. There were present— Dr Fish, Messrs W. M. Moore, J. Cunningham, H. W. Moore, A. H. Brisco, F. Bethune, T. Hughes, A. Erskine, Fred. Fish, R. Taylor, R. H. Pearpoint, W. H. Lodge, C. K. Sherratt, and E. Hardcastle, Hon. Secretary. Mi W. M. Moore was voted to the chair.

The Secretary read the minutes ot the last aunual meeting, which were confirmed. The balance-sheet and statement of liabilities were also read. The former showed that the total receipts for the year had been £57 3s 7d, the chief items being, members' subscriptions, £2i 5s ; proceeds from concerts, £22 lis. The expenditure was £s§ 8s ]ld, the chief items of which were the outstanding accounts from the previous year, and fencing and improving the grounds, etc. the balance to the credit of the Club is thus £1 Us Bd. The statement of liabilities showed that the Club was in debt to the extent of about £9B.—On the motion of Mr Hughes, seconded by Mr Lodge, the balance-sheet w«8 adopted,J Considerable discussion took place upon an old account for express hire, which had been incurred a few seasons back. It was finally resolved on the motion of Dr Fish—" That the account be paid out of the funds of the Club, but that no liability be incurred in future by the Club for express hire."

It was resolved on the motion of Mr Pearpoint, seconded by Mr Hughes—- " That the existing liabilities be the first claim on the funds of the Club."

Mr Pearpoint moved, Mr Lodge seconded, and it was carried—" That during the coming season the Club provide cold luncheons and liquors in the pavilion, and the cost be collected from the eleven playing." It was resolved that the Secretary when engaging an express should give the driver to understand that he mustcollect the fees for himself, and in the event of a member promising to play in any match, and neglecting to do so, he must pay his share of express hire, or bs not allowed to play in any other match during the season.

An amendment, that the players in a team provide their own means of conveyance, found no seconder.

As a recommendation to the new Committee, Mr Cunningham proposed, Mr Brisco seconded, and it was carried —"That all return matches be played before any foreign team be invited to play at Geraldine."

A further recommendation was proposed by Mr Pearpoint, seconded by Mr flughes, and carried, to the effect that an entertainment be got up in aid of the funds of the Club. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, and resulted as follows :—Captain, Mr W. M. Moore; Deputy-Captain, Mr F. Bethune ; Secretary »nd Treasurer, Mr E. Hardcastle ; Managing Committee, Messrs Pearpoint, Bethune, Lodge, Cunningham, Brisco, Hughes, and the Secretary, ex officio. The Captain declined taking a seat on the Managing Committee, owing to press of busings. On the motion of Mr Cunningham, seconded by Mr Pearpoint, a vote ot thnnks was passed to the retiring officers.

A vote of thanks to the Chairman then terminated the meeting.
