HOUND SHOW.
A show of bounds—the first, by-the way, which has taken place in the colony —took place in Timaru yesterday, and was well attended. The exhibits numbered over 40, and were all of considerable merit. The prizes were as follow :—Ft r beat stallion harrier, silver salver ; for the best two couple of working hounds, a butter holder of silver ; for best couple brood bitches, and for best stallion beagle, silver cups; for best fox-terrier bitch, a silver flask and case, and for the best fox-terrier dog, a traveller’s drinking cup. Subjoined is the list of prize winners ; harriers. Class I—Stallion Hounds (6 exhibits) —Brackenfield Harriers, “ Resolute,” 1 ; Christchurch Harriers, “Rattler,” 2; S.C. Harriers, “Valour,” commended. Class 2—One Couple Brood Bitches (3 exhibits) Wairaate County Pack’s “Rapid ” and “ Vixen,” 1 ; S.C. Harriers, 11 Tempest ” and “ Riot," 2, Class 3—Two Couple Working Hounds (4 exhibits)—S.C. Harriers, “Virgin, *’ “ Victory,” “Whimper” and “ Wishful,” 1 aim ate County Harriers, “ Banister,” “Bellman,” “Harmony,” and “Bangle," 2. BEAGLES. Class 4~Stallion Hounds (6 exhibits) —Ashwick Beagles, “ Pelican,” 1; Geraldine Beagles, “ Medlar,” 2. Class s — One Couple Working Bounds (3 exhibits)—Geraldine Beagles, “Painter” and “Matchless,” 1; Ashburton Beagles, “ Dairymaid ” and Fairy,” 2. FOX TERRIERS. Class S—Best Dog (10 exhibits)— Colonel Bailey’s “ Simla Jock,” 3 years, by Scarsdale Joe—Brownie (both imported) 1 ; Mr R, N. Twopenny’s “Belvoir Tom,” 4 years (imported), by Champion—Belvoir Venom (both imported), 2. Class 7—Best Bitch (9 exhibits)— Colonel Bailey's “ Nettle,” 7 months, by Belvoir Tom—Brownie, 1 ; Colonel Bailey’s “ Vic,” 2 years, by Bezique— Btpwnie, 2.
