S.C. HUNT CLUB STEEPLECHASES. The South Canterbury Hunt Club hold their annual meeting on Thursday last on the Timaru Racecourse. The day was fine, though windy, and the racing good, but not more than 500 or 600 spectators were on the ground, despite the fact that in Timaru a half holiday had been proclaimed. During the day several falls occurred, the moat serious one happening io Dalham in the Maiden, He fell at the last hurdle, and his rider, Mr Stevenson, was rendered insensible for some time. However, no bones were broken, bruises on the rider’s left side and face being the only damage.
