THE HILTON SCHOOL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —lt has not appeared in the local papers, nor were the School Committee aware of the fact, that a mistress had been appointed to the above school. I, as a member of the Hilton School Committee, do not approve of advertising in the Wainaate Times and Lyttelton Times, There was one application received by the Committee for the post, who thereupon appointed the applicant, and yet I find that another mistress appointed by someone arrived at the School this morning and commenced her duties, without any authority from the Committee and without their knowledge or consent. I should like, sir, to have some explanation from the Board, or whoever made this appointment.—l am, etc,, Cornelius Lbary. Hilton, August 5, 1885.
