The Canterbury Fanners’ Co-operative Association report for the week ended 31« t July as follow* ; Wheat, —1 fair enquiry for prime samples lias been noticeable, chiefly for milling purposes. First-cUsa samples of relvet find a ready sale. They have sold levekal parcels at 2* 7d to 2s 8d for red chaff 2s 8d to 2s 9d for luacan, and 2s 9d to 2s lOd for velvet, and these may be taken as present values. Oats.—The market ia bare of prime sorts, and piicea are fully maintained. Their sales have been at Is 4d to Is 5d for long feed. For short feed they quote 3« 6f to Is Bd, and for prime stout milling, is 8d to Is 9d, ex store. Bjrley. -There has been no inquiry during the week, and quotations are nominal at 2* 6-1 to 2* 91 for malting. Potatoes. —4O s 45s for prime Der wents, bags in.

Mr E. R. Outness (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited), reports for the week ended Friday, July 31st, as fol'ows : Cattle —The supply of prime quality beef is getting scarcer every day. VVe quote an advance of 2a 6i per 1001 b, with a good demand. At tiie Waabdyke Company’s yards on Ihnrsday only a small supply of prime came forward, which brought good values, with keen competition. They sold heifers up to £7loa. , r ... Sheep—The demand for prime quality is good, with only a limited supply. They quote prime mutton at 2jd to 2fd per lb ; medium, 21. At the Washdyke Company’s yards 120 crossbred wethers, at 14s ; 265 half-bred wethers, at 12s 9ct ; 190 merino ewes, in lamb, at 7s lid ; 100 cull halfbred hoggets, at 7s 3d. Country Sale —On Friday, the 31st ipst., they conducted a clearing sale of stock, implements, etc., on account of Mr William Waiter, Waitohi. Considering the unfavorable weather, the attendance was large, and every lot sold met with wood competition, and the prices obtained were very satisfactory. A line of 646 two, four, six and eight tooth crossbred ewes brought 13s lOd ; 480 crossbred hoggets, 10s ; old rams, 13s ; fat crossbred wethers, 12s 3d ; cull merino ewes, 4s Id ; draught h>Tßes, from £lO to £ls ; hacks, £5 10s to£7; engine and combine, £ibo ; implements, harness, etc., etc., at current, Values* . ~, , Skins—The market was in full supply at their usual fortnightly sale. They sold by auction and privately 832 ; Best butchers’ crossbreds, 3s 3d to 3s lOd ; second quality, 2* 6d to 3s; merinos, 2s 9d to 3s; country skins, Is 9d to 3s; 3 bales station skins brought 4£d to od per lb. Wool, 7d per lb ; pieces, 4d ; Jocks, 24d. . , Hides—The market remains steady. All coming forward met with ready sale at the following quotations, viz. 60i^s and over, 4W per lb ; 50ibs to 60lbs, 4d ; light and inferior, 3d to 3£d ; cut and slippy, 2d.
