Notice is hereby given that the PARTNERSHIP late'y subsisting between up, the Undersigned, ALEXANDER RENWICK ALLAN and HENRY THOMSON CARTER, carrying on business together as General Storekeepers and Produce Dealers at Temnka and Hilton, in the County of Geraldine, under the firm of “ Allan and Garter,” hns this day been DISSOLVED by mutual consent. The BUSINESS AT TEMUKA will in future be carried on by the said ALEXANDER RENWICK ALCAN ou his own account, and the BUSINESS at HILTON will in future be curried on by the said HENRY THOMSON CARTER on his own account. It is essentially a LOCAL PAPER, devoted to the interests of the district. It is impossible for the papers published in large centres of population to pay the same attention to the requirements of the district as it does. It has given its advocacy to EVERY MOVEMENT for the ADVANCEMENT OF THE DISTRICT. It has never been known to take the side of the Strong against the Weak. While it has upheld the Rights of Working Men, it has always recognised the Rights of Property. The farmers of this district have found it an ARDENT ADVOCATE for RELIEF being given to them from the burden of a USURIOUS RATE OF INTEREST. The scheme of a NATIONAL BANK—originated in its columns, and consistently advocated by it—has now been taken up in Parliament, and if it passes GREAT BENEFITS will accrue from it. On these grounds the Proprietor bases hie claim for support, and he trusts he will not be disappointed. The Reduced Price will date from the Isi of July last.
