A smart shock of earthquake was felt in Christchurch shortly before 8 o’clock on Saturday night. A Mrs Hepworth died on Saturday afternoon at Yaldhurst after her confinement. Her husband was riding towards Christchurch for a doctor, and met Dr. Frins soon after starting, with whom he returned, but death had already resulted.
