THE AFGHANISTAN DIFFICULTY.
London, July 20. The Standard this morning expresses', a belief that Russia is to receive Meruchak in return for waiving her claim to Zulfikar Pass. St. Petersburg, July 20. The Russian Press generally regard Russia's movements as due to fears of an Afghan attack on the post now held by General Komaroff, who, it is staled, is completing preparations for assuming a defensive attitude without occupying the defiles commanding the Zulfikar Pass. .
