TIMARU MARKETS.
From the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s ( Limited) report on the produce markets of New Zealand, 16th July, 1885, we make the following extracts Wool—Only a few bales of stragglers’ wool and fellraongers’ parcels are coming to hand. We have no sales to report for the month now under review. Sheepskins—Prices hare lately ruled a shade lower, and the unfavorable weather we have bad lately has interfered with deliveries. Butchers’ crossbreds sell readily, but merinos are not in such good demand. Fat—Rough fat ha* declined fully •|d per lb, and is worth to 2d. Wheat Stocks of tin's cereal are being reduced slowly. Velvet is inquired after, and as there is not a quantity on hand, and millers require it for mixing with other wheats, we are of opinion it will pay to bold for some time longer. Good Tuscan is now difficult to obtain, and prices are firm for this description at our quotations. During the past week we have placed some lines of red chaff at 2s 7d ex store, and at present this may be looked upon os the top value for this class of wheat. Ex ports for the month amount to 4570 sacks. Oats—Oats are moving off gradually, but stocks are still heavy. We hare placed several lines of plump discolored Danish at Is 5d ; bright stout feed at Is 9d ; and heavy Canadians at Is lOd, all f.0.b., sacks extra. 14,158 sacks have been shipped during the past month. Barley—We have no tiansactions to report. Brewers’ stocks are heavy, and until they are reduced there is not much likelihood of any business eventuating.
