GERALDINE FLORAL AND HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The annual meeting of the members o the above Society was held in the Younj Men’s Club on Thursday evening. Abon a dozen were present, and Mr John Pyi was voted to the chair. MINUTES. The minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. BALANCE-SHEET, The Treasurer, Mr J. W. Pye, read fh< balance-sheet as follows :—Receipts ; Tc members’ subscriptions, £25 Is; special prizes, £1 10s ; donations, £l2s; entries, £1 8s; tickets, £1 10s; receipts at the door, £7 18s 6d ; auction sale of exhibits after the show, £2 Is 3d ; total, £4O 10s 9d. Expenditure: By prizes, £lB 9s; stationery, etc,, £1 12s 3d ; hall, fil ls; band, £1 Is; printing, £sl3s6d ; R. Taylor’s account, £ll4s; Secretary, £3 13a 6d ; total, £33 4s 3d. Balance in hand, £7 6s 6d. There were outstanding subscriptions of £3 ss, which, had they been in, would have made the credit balance even more satisfactory. It was unanimously resolved that the balance-sheet as read be adopted. ELECTION OI OFFICERS. The election of officers for the ensuing year was then proceeded with, and the following were elected ; —President, Mr John Cunningham ; Vice-President, Mr G. H. Patrick; Treasurer, Mr J. W. Pye; Secretary, Mr E. Hardcastle; Committee, Messrs J. Pye, M. Coombs, S. Chapman, A. Spence, C. Rambel, and E. Johns. It was decided that the remuneration of the Secretary be four guineas for the year. MISCELLANEOUS, A Sub-Committee was appointed to revise the rules of the Society and lay the same before a general meeting of the members to be held on the second Thursday in August. The Secretary placed his office at the disposal of the Committee to hold their meetings in, which offer was accepted. This being all the business, a vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
